Burt has spent his entire life on or near the water, growing up summering in Waterford, Connecticut, and Shelter Island, New York. Coming from a long line of sailors and fishermen, he has deep knowledge of the waters of Long Island Sound, Connecticut Sound, and the areas around Cape Cod and the Islands. Now living full-time in the region, Burt, a Northeastern University graduate, and his wife Maura, the daughter of a Nantucket commercial fisherman, raised three children, now young adults. Summers were always spent boating with family and friends—cruising, fishing, enjoying water sports, and embracing the boating lifestyle. Over the years, Burt has owned and operated various boats, from his first 13-foot Boston Whaler as a teenager to larger cruising yachts. He recently joined Strong’s Marine after a 35+ year career as a senior executive in transportation, logistics, and supply chain management with companies such as UPS, KPMG, Accenture, and DHL. Burt understands the importance of finding the perfect boat to match a client’s needs and lifestyle, along with having an excellent marina to support the boating experience. He firmly believes that free time is precious, and there’s no better way to spend it than on the water with family and friends.
